Asian Cuisine, Fine Dining, Bartending
- The first of many years of managing restaurants, bars, and nightclubs began with a small burger restaurant at age 19.
- His professional culinary experience spans two decades in which he has worked in every restaurant position from dishwasher to general manager.
- Despite having left the restaurant industry, Justin continues to create new recipes and hone his skills in the kitchen, trying out any and all new ingredients and techniques regularly.
Experience
Justin was first introduced to fine cuisine when first working in a local steakhouse with a chef-driven menu that had an emphasis on wild game. This is where he learned professional cooking techniques and had the opportunity to sample such exotic foods as kangaroo, antelope, and black bear. Wanting to expand professionally, Justin would move to the front of the house and learn to wait tables and tend bar at the Olive Garden. This and other experiences led to a position at a local sushi restaurant where he would become general manager, but not before learning how to cook asian foods and then training as a sushi chef. College and writing would follow these formative years and lead to an opportunity to write for Static Media, where he is a contributor for The Daily Meal and SlashGear.
Education
Justin graduated from Tulsa Technology Center before studying accounting and business at Tulsa Community College and Oklahoma State University-Tulsa.
