Jim has more than 30 years of experience in writing for newspapers. After his recent retirement from the Northwest Florida Daily News, he's applying that experience as a freelance writer. Jim's newspaper career included coverage of beats ranging from local government to higher education to the United States military. He also had the chance to write feature stories on topics ranging from college football to bumper stickers. During his time as a reporter and editor for the Athens Banner-Herald and other Georgia newspapers, Jim earned a number of Georgia Press Association and Associated Press awards.
Education
Jim attended the University of North Georgia before earning a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Georgia. His degree in political science has given him an understanding of government regulation of food from field to table.
