James started his writing journey in 2014 when he was 17, creating opinion pieces for the current affairs website Backbench. He then went on to publish on HuffPost, as well as writing articles supporting the cultural heritage of his home city, Stoke-on-Trent — including the beloved Staffordshire oatcake. More recently, James wrote news and reviews for Food Tribe, before joining Mashed as a news writer in 2021.
