Amy Bizzarri is the author of four Chicago history-focused books: "Discovering Vintage Chicago" (Rowman, 2015), "Chicago's Iconic Dishes, Drinks, and Desserts" (American Palate Series / History Press, 2016), 111 Places in Chicago That You Must Not Miss (Emons Verlag, 2017), and "111 Places for Kids in Chicago That You Must Not Miss" (Emons Verlag, 2019), and and "Iconic Hollywood Dishes, Drinks & Desserts" (American Palate / History Press, 2022). Her upcoming book explores the culinary history of the Civilian Conservation Corps. In 2019, she was awarded the Silver Lowell Award for Best Travel Guide by Society of American Travel Writers for her retro road trip guide, "The Best Hits on Route 66" (Globe Pequot, 2018).

Education

Amy pursued a Master of Arts degree in Italian from Middlebury College (VT) and the University of Florence, and ended up staying in Italy upon graduation. She also holds M.Ed in Bilingual and Biculural Education from DePaul University.
