Restaurant Opening Report: The Week Of April 21, 2014
Every week, we take a look at some of the restaurants that have opened or will soon open across the country. Here's this week's roundup:
This May, chef Gregory Elliott and Cornerstone Restaurant Group will open Current, which will feature seasonal spins on Italian cuisine including homemade pastas and pizzas, at the W Chicago in Lakeshore.
Just a few weeks after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, KISS founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are set to open the sixth location of their Rock and Brews restaurant chain in Overland Park, Kan. on April 29th.
The Harvest Bar, a health-focused "superfood cafe," features bowls with healthy ingredients like acai, pitaya, and quinoa, is set to open in Sherman Oaks this coming Monday, April 28.
Earlier this week, Noah Bernamoff and Matt Kliegman opened Black Seed, a bagel shop offering wood oven-made bagels and coffee from Stumptown.
Kailash Parbat, a vegetarian Indian restaurant featuring traditional Sindhi dishes, opened its first outpost on Lexington Avenue, between 27th and 28th Streets this week.
Huertas, a new restaurant from chef Jonah Miller serving up Spanish and Basque-influenced food, has opened in the East Village. The 75-seat space features a dim-sum bar area and a "Menú del Día" dining room.
On April 29, The Juice Shop will open in the Flatiron District. The new juice and lunch spot will feature cold-pressed juice selections, and healthy snack and lunch options.
On Sunday, May 4th, restaurateurs Gaku and Christy Shibata, owners of Riverton Street's Yopparai, will open Azasu. The Lower East Side space will feature Japanese-style small plates and drinks.
db Brasserie, a collaboration between chefs Daniel Boulud and David Middleton, has opened at the Venetian Las Vegas. According to Boulud, the restaurant is a contemporary twist on a modern brasserie.
