Anthony Bourdain's 'Parts Unknown' Will Return For A Final Season
Fans of the beloved late chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain will get a final chance to travel the world with him this fall, when CNN airs the last season of his series, "Parts Unknown."
Bourdain died by suicide June 8 at age 61. One episode meant for the show's final season had already been completed. That episode, in which Bourdain travels to Kenya with fellow CNN host W. Kamau Bell, will be the last to contain Bourdain's signature narration.
Four other episodes, shot in Manhattan, Texas, Spain and Indonesia, will be assembled without that style of Bourdain voiceover audio.
The two final episodes will use behind-the-scenes footage and new interviews to honor Bourdain.
Beyond that, there are no further plans to use footage of the late host to assemble new shows.
"We don't want to start putting things together that weren't meant to be," CNN executive vice-president Amy Entelis told the Los Angeles Times.
In July, "Parts Unknown" was honored with six Emmy nominations, including two for Bourdain himself. The awards will be handed out in September, and whether he wins or not, they provide further proof of how Bourdain forever changed the food world.
