Golden Globes Menu Preview
The biggest celebrity dinner party of the year, the 71st Golden Globes Awards, gives The Daily Meal an exclusive preview into what will be dished up for the stars.
This Sunday 1,300 of Hollywood's recognized actors and filmmakers will be seated for dinner for the fourth decade in the iconic Beverly Hilton's International Ballroom as hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler attempt to gain chuckles from their anticipating crowd.
The Beverly Hilton's executive chef Suki Sugiura has organized a three-course menu which first includes an appetizer of grilled eggplant with sundried tomato and pine nut hummus on seared tomato. A mini sweet pepper with feta cheese, pomegranate, herbs and California olive oil on grilled pita; and grilled artichoke on multigrain tabbouleh and tahini.
Next we have the entrée, created by executive sous chef Chris O'Connell of Mediterranean spice crusted braised beef short rib and sauteed smoked filet of Atlantic sea trout with spinach sweet sorn ragout and light cream of tomato dill sauce. Sugiura explains, "It is a thrill to put together the menu yet again for the Golden Globe Awards," "We have a staff of more than 200!"
Rounding up the meal will be an inventive gusto mango dessert from executive pastry chef Thomas Henzi, on almond sponge cake with crème Anglaise. It will be a challenge to see how many of our leading ladies and gentleman can polish off all of this food! However, we assume many won't pass up on the drink of choice for The Golden Globes, Moet & Chandon, 2004 Grand Vintage Brut.
