2 Towns Ciderhouse Fly'n South Gooseberry Cider
2 Towns Ciderhouse Fly'n South Gooseberry cider is another unique limited release from the Corvallis, Oregon based cidermaker. This cider is the fourth installment of the 2 Towns Ciderhouse Limited Release line that often uses unique ingredients in addition to apples.
Fly'n South uses whole locally grown Oregon gooseberries fermented along with 100% fresh pressed Northwest Apples. I cracked the bottle sample they sent me pouring down the middle of a regular nonic pint glass. A nice big big but fizzy white head pours on this one like a light American Lager. Apple core, green skin nose with a sweet tart juicy flavor. I cant quite pull out the individual Gooseberry flavor but I think it adds to the clean tartness on this refreshing cider.
2 Towns says Fly'n South pairs perfectly with pasta carbonara, rich lobster risotto & potato pancakes, Fly'n South is dry, tart and perfect for the long haul.
As always, 2 Town Ciderhouse uses fresh-pressed 100% Northwest Apples, no added sugars, and never uses artificial essences or flavorings. Instead, the Ciderhouse allows the fruit to speak for itself. Fly'n South is now available in the tap room, and to distributors in bottles, and 1/6 bbls and 1/2 bbl kegs. Less than 1000 cases were bottled this week for distribution in Oregon, Washington, California and Minnesota.
2 Towns created the Limited Release line of ciders in 2013, beginning with the Hop & Stalk and followed by Cidre Muscato & Cot 'n the Act.
