The Trader Joe's Snack Mix With A Controversial Pretzel Ratio
Devoted shoppers at Trader Joe's have plenty to shop for lately as the grocery store chain has released a plethora of new products, including a snack mix that has the internet divided. Trader Joe's has released Enchanted Jangle, a limited-edition trail mix inspired by the upcoming summer season, according to the store's website. Enchanted Jangle is dubbed as a "magical mix of assorted candy treats" containing lemon-yogurt-coated animal-shaped cookies, chocolate-coated pretzel nuggets, marshmallows coated in strawberry yogurt, pink-and-orange-swirled confectionery chips, and waffle pretzels.
While the trail mix has an abundance of sweet treats, the differing amount of each item in the bag has developed a level of controversy on social media among Trader Joe's fans. Some Trader Joe's shoppers were left unimpressed with the snack mix, expressing on Reddit that they are underwhelmed with the snack mix's ratio, referring specifically to the abundance of waffle pretzels. "The pretzels are gonna ruin it if there's too many," one person commented.
Shoppers are divided about the snack mix
While Trader Joe's indicates that the 10-ounce snack mix is not yet available for purchase on its website, some lucky customers were able to find it at their local Trader Joe's locations already. According to Reddit, the snack mix costs $4.49.
In another Reddit post, one shopper posted a photo of the snack mix organized by its respective type of treat. People noticed a large number of pretzels compared to the other treats, especially the animal-shaped cookies. "Sorry TJs but no one wants that ratio of pretzels. No one," one user commented. It seems as though each bag of Enchanted Jangle has varying ratios, as well. One person commented they had only three animal-shaped cookies, while another said 75% of their bag consisted of pretzels. However, others were intrigued and excited to try the snack mix.
Some commenters argued that the large amount of pretzels helps offset the sweetness of the other items. "I thought the waffle pretzels would be redundant but they were delightful with the plentiful yogurt chips especially," wrote one user.
Enchanted Jangle joins the growing Jangle gang
If the name Enchanted Jangle sounds somewhat familiar, that's because the summer snack mix is the latest rendition of fan-favorite Jingle Jangle. Trader Joe's Jingle Jangle is a seasonal assorted mix of pretzels, Joe-Joe's cookies, milk chocolate gems, and chocolate mini peanut butter cups sold in the winter.
Jingle Jangle was an instant favorite and Trader Joe's decided to expand its Jangle line-up. In addition to Jingle Jangle, the chain sells Jingle Jangle Pretzel Twists, which are large pretzels coated in peanut butter candy coating with mini chocolate candies and crushed Joe-Joe's cookies. But wintertime Jingle Jangle isn't the only jangle treat on the TJ's roster. The grocery store also recently introduced a Jangle product for springtime called Springle Jangle. It contains vibrantly colored treats, such as yogurt-coated pretzels with pink and yellow drizzles, peanut butter cups, butter toffee peanuts, dark chocolate Joe-Joe's cookie bark pieces, sprinkled nonpareils, and spring candy gems.
With the release of the summer-themed Enchanted Jangle, it may not be long until we see a fall version to complete the Jangle line-up.
