Best Chinese Spareribs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • 2 pound pork spareribs
  • 1 1/2 cup unsalted vegetable stock
  • 1/2 cup chinese rice wine
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 slices ginger, crushed
  • 1/4 cup sliced scallions (sliced on the bias)
Directions
  1. Heat the oil on in a Dutch oven, on high heat. Add the ribs and brown on both sides, about 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
  2. Except for the scallions, add the remaining ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine. Pour over ribs. Cover, turn the heat down to low, and simmer for at least 1 hour, or until the ribs are tender, adding more stock if needed.
  3. Garnish with sliced scallions before serving.
