Sautéed Japanese Turnips Recipe
Turnips are one of our favorite vegetables to make. We picked up our most recent batch from our local farmers market. They always give us a taste of something new. We recommend sautéing your turnips — you will love them! Below is our recipe for sautéed Japanese turnips, a great addition to any meal.
Sautéed Japanese Turnips Recipe
Fresh sage and butter and a comforting, earthy note to turnips, which are ready in just a few minutes.

Ingredients
- 4 white japanese turnips
- 1/2 cup fresh sage, chopped
- butter, to taste
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Directions
- Chop off ends of turnip so flat surface on each side.
- Carefully using a mandolin, slice all of your turnips into nice "chip-thin" pieces.
- Heat a large sauté pan and add small dollop of butter to coat bottom.
- Add about a half cup of the turnips so they cover the pan.
- Sauté the turnips for about 5 minutes each.
- While sautéing, sprinkle about a tablespoon of sage into each batch and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Sauté turnips until the ends are golden brown.
- Repeat steps 3- 8 until you have sautéed all of your turnips.
