Cracker Barrel Kitchenware Is A Thing. Here's Where To Find It

You might not be able to get Cracker Barrel's red eye gravy anymore, but you can still take a piece of Cracker Barrel home with you. And we're not just talking about a souvenir from the gift shop either. Cracker Barrel actually sells its own kitchenware from its online store.

While Cracker Barrel might not serve your drink in a frosted mug anymore either, that shouldn't stop you from buying your own mug to frost yourself right at home. Some of what's for sale might be what you'd expect from Cracker Barrel: Iconic rocking chairs, branded coffee mugs, and cast iron pans are, of course, for sale. However, the store offers much more. In a way, it's an expanded version of the country store that you find in the front of every restaurant. There are clothes, quilts, and bedding available for purchase, as well.

It might seem odd for a restaurant chain to have such an expansive lineup of unbranded goods, but it actually fits in quite well with Cracker Barrel's history.

The first Cracker Barrel was a country store

If you don't know much about Cracker Barrel, you might be surprised to find out that it didn't begin as a restaurant. It was originally conceived by founder Dan Evins as a one-stop shop for families on the road. Evins had been working as a traveling salesman for Shell Oil and designed the store to include all of the comforts that he missed while traveling. This included everything from cornbread made from scratch to gasoline pumps for refueling.

After a few years, Evins found that the food was his customer's favorite part of his stores and started to expand these offerings at his locations. Many of the early locations were set up at interstate highway junctions so that families on the road could easily hop off and enjoy a 'home-cooked meal' even while on the road.

Today, Cracker Barrel has more than 660 locations across the country where folks can get a meal and enjoy gifts and souvenirs from their general stores.

The best items from the Cracker Barrel store

Not only can you outfit your home to fit the idyllic rural aesthetic of Cracker Barrel, but you can bring home some of their iconic foods in addition to their extensive kitchenware collection, as well.

If you've ever craved Cracker Barrel biscuits at home, then its biscuit and dumpling mix is exactly what you need. Of course, biscuits aren't complete without a helping of apple butter to smear on top. Cracker Barrel's online store is also selling plain and spiced versions of its classic sweet spread.

Just like the Cracker Barrel general store offerings, the online store has a wide selection of old-time candy. Customers now have a great way to stock up on products like vintage-styled packages of Tootsie Rolls and Double Bubble without having to set foot inside an actual Cracker Barrel location. If you grew up playing the Cracker Barrel peg games over dinner or got a quick game in on one of the checkers' rug boards before your food arrived, then you'll be glad to hear that you can now bring those games home through the Cracker Barrel online store, too.

But with almost 300 items in their kitchenware section, you'll have no trouble adding that Cracker Barrel touch to your own home kitchen. From mugs and drinkware to kitchen electronics and bakeware, there's truly something for everyone to take home — cookbooks included.

Cracker Barrel has always been a great place for families and travelers to come together and take some time off from the road, and its online store is a great way to bring that experience home.
