Bacardi's New Flavored Rum Was Inspired By An Iconic Mexican Snack

A new bold flavor of Bacardi rum is now on sale in the United States. Bacardi announced today that its mango chile-flavored white rum is now available.

This new flavor was inspired by chile mango, a popular street food in Mexico, and it usually consists of sliced mango flavored with dried red chiles and lime. Bacardi's mango chile rum fittingly made its debut in Mexico, where it helped elevate the brand to become the country's top-selling flavored spirits portfolio. Global innovations director Maria Galis says Bacardi is excited to bring it to the United States for summer.

"As a leader in the rum category, we're always looking to push the boundaries of what our rum can do. The sweet and spicy mixture of Mango Chile is the perfect flavor expression for summer, especially as an easy-to-drink chilled shot. It's smooth, crisp and tastes like it came straight from your local fruit cart," said Galis.

Bacardi mango chile is available now

Bacardi says this white rum is flavored using natural mango extracts and chili spice. It adds that this flavor combo is a great way to change up classic rum cocktails like the mojito or daiquiri. However, Bacardi mango chile might be best enjoyed on its own in a chilled glass with a rim of tajin chili spice to bring out its tropical, fiery flavors.

Bacardi also plans to promote its mango chile rum by making rounds at the summer's biggest music festivals, including Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, and Sueños. The brand will offer samples at pop-up venues at these festivals and more. This is the eighth flavored rum added to Bacardi's line of products and will be available in 750 ml bottles for $12.99.

Rum has always been one of the best spirits for sipping summer cocktails. By adding these Mexican street food-inspired flavors to their classic white rum, Bacardi has made it easy to add a spicy-sweet edge to all of your favorite rum drinks.
