Costco's Hottest New Snack Is A Chili-Infused Honey
At a huge retailer like Costco, where there are aisles upon aisles of goods, it can be easy to miss an item or two during your grocery run — locations carry about 4,000 different types of products. Costco is also known for its rotating monthly deals and special promotions as well.
It can be overwhelming to keep up with all the new deals and products. Devoted Costco shoppers know they can rely on social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok, such as @costcobuys and @costcoguide, which dedicate their accounts to explaining and reviewing the latest products.
One of the more popular new finds at the warehouse retailer is a spicy take on a beloved sweetener — chili pepper-infused honey. Though not technically new, it's seemingly become the latest buzz amongst Costco fans and shoppers. So if you're a fan of fiery food, you may want to visit your nearest Costco. The sweet and spicy condiment is currently on sale.
Get chili-infused honey for a good price
There is a great deal on the hot sauce right now at Costco. Yahoo! Finance notes that you can grab the pack of two 12-ounce bottles of Sue Bee Infusions Hot Honey for $12.99. The bottle of honey is kosher, according to the Costco website, and has just three simple ingredients: honey, dried chili peppers, and vinegar.
"Sue Bee is a well-known honey brand; and, at that price, it has real potential to become a pantry staple as long as Costco carries it," DealNews.com consumer analyst Julie Ramhold told Yahoo! Finance.
Not sure how to use chili-infused honey? According to the packaging, Sue Bee's hot honey can be drizzled on nearly anything savory, such as chicken wings, pizza, ribs, stir-fry, and even cornbread. If hot honey isn't your cup of tea, Costco has an array of other honey products, such as its store brand Kirkland Signature Wild Flower Honey and Organic Raw Honey.
If you want spicier honey, try this
Sue Bee Infusions apparently isn't the only hot honey brand that has shoppers making a beeline to their local Costco. Instagram account @costcobuys, showcased a spicy product created by Savannah Bee Company. The 24-ounce bottle was shown to cost $10.99, though it's unclear whether the price remains the same or if Costco still carries the product. But, it received a lot of hype last year.
In a post on the subreddit r/Costco in November 2022, a majority of people praised the condiment's ability to pair well with food, such as fried chicken, pizza, and bacon. Others were not too impressed with the honey. "Honestly, I think its [sic] kind of bland," one person wrote, admitting, "I love spicy things and I love honey, but I find hot honey to just be very basic hot and sweet."
Unlike Sue Bee's hot honey, Savannah Bee Company's honey is infused with scotch bonnet peppers and habanero peppers, which areabout 40 times spicier than a jalapeño pepper. Whatever your chili pepper preference, one thing is certain: Costco is clearly looking for ways to cater to its spice-loving customers.
