Would You Do A Workout Class With A Full-Service Bar?

If you've ever finished a gym session sweaty, panting from exhaustion, and questioning why you bothered to work out in the first place, you might wonder how to make exercise more enjoyable. Do you try a less intense form of movement? Stop by the store for a post-workout treat? Try exercising to your favorite music?

You may not have all of the answers to your workout woes yet, but one New York City-based studio claims to have at least one solution. GRIT BXNG describes its movement studio as having "an atmosphere to make you feel invincible, sexy, and confident." If you spend workouts comparing yourself to your fellow gym-goers and end your exercise sessions feeling defeated, disheveled, and unmotivated, this might just be a solid option for you.

But GRIT BXNG has a controversial twist to its unconventional approach to working out — and it may not be right for everyone.

Why everyone's talking about GRIT BXNG

It's not the nightclub music that blasts through the studio or the high-intensity treadmill-based workout that has the Internet buzzing about GRIT BXNG. Sure, that's all pretty cool, but GRIT BXNG has a little something extra to motivates gym-goers. The movement studio boasts a full-service bar.

The bar, which sits at the front of the studio, may be the first thing to catch patrons' eyes. It features a variety of cocktails, beers, and mocktails to tempt any type of gym-goer. The studio even holds themed parties with specialty drinks after some of its classes, so you can bring your A-game to the workout and then kick back at the bar as you watch the studio transform into a veritable nightclub (per Delish).

A trendy workout spot with a lively atmosphere and a bar to boot? Why would you ever want to switch gyms?

Are post-workout drinks a good idea?

GRIT BXNG blew up online for its boozy approach, but reactions range from excitement to concern. While some people think they would nail their workouts if they could go to a bar at their gym afterwards, others have concerns about the potential dangers of having easy access to alcohol after exercising.

While a workout studio/nightclub/bar combination sounds like a motivating atmosphere, it might not be such a great idea, according to University Hospitals. When you work out, you burn calories, but the fewer calories are in your system, the more an alcoholic drink will affect you. Consuming an adult beverage after exercising could get you a little bit too far under the influence — even if you order one of GRIT BXNG's electrolyte margaritas. It might be best to take a ride-share to the studio if you plan on drinking.

Using alcohol as motivation to exercise makes GRIT BXNG stand out — but whether or not it's a good idea is up for debate.
