Mocha-Style White Russian Recipe
We are fans of improving our at-home bar-tending skills — if the pandemic taught us anything, it is that we can learn to take up new skills and hobbies from the comfort of our own homes. While we may not be able to create entirely new cocktails at home, we certainly can put fun twists on already-existing ones.
Cocktail making is a fun way to liven up a night in. Whether you are having guests over for dinner or you are just looking for a way to spice up an evening of Netflix watching, you can't go wrong with the tried-and-true classic, AKA the white Russian. This recipe puts a sweet twist on the classic, by incorporating mocha, which really complements the creamy nature of a white Russian. "I like serving these when we have family or friends over," recipe developer Deniz Vergara says of her creation. "I usually serve them after dinner to get the palate ready for dessert!" If you and your guests are fans of cocktails that teeter on the dessert line, then this mocha-style white Russian will definitely do the trick.
Gather your ingredients for a mocha-style white Russian
Vodka is the liquor of choice for a white Russian, so you'll need some of that, along with coffee liqueur, chocolate liqueur, heavy cream, ice, and chocolate syrup.
Build the cocktail in a rocks glass
Begin by adding ice to a rocks glass. Then, add the vodka, coffee liqueur, and chocolate liqueur. Using a large cocktail spoon, stir these ingredients for 10 seconds until the mixture is chilled.
Add the heavy cream
Top the cocktail with the heavy cream before stirring again. Make sure to fully incorporate the heavy cream.
Drizzle with chocolate and serve
Lastly, drizzle the white Russian with chocolate syrup for the finishing touch. Then you are all ready to serve it up and enjoy it. Vergara notes, "I like serving these with little cookies or small dessert bites because you can have a drink in one hand and a dessert in the other." Need a few ideas?
