Bageti Sandwiches
Bageti Sandwiches was not the Vietnamese baguette place we had expected. Talking to Michael, the man behind the counter, we discovered that the restaurant was actually an Italian, French, and Asian fusion. The menu was evidence of this with items such as pâté chaud, a French-inspired Vietnamese hot pastry; tiramisu, an Italian cake; baguettes, thin loaves of French bread; and chicken curry, a dish often found in Southeastern Asian cuisines.
Sounds like normal, run-of-the-mill food right? Wrong. Everything (and I mean everything) is made at the restaurant from the Alfredo sauce to the iced green tea to the ground beef in the Bageti Burgers. Not to mention the baguettes are made without added fats or sugars. In fact all of the food is sans artificial sugars.
My favorite items are the BBQ chicken sandwich and mango mousse cake. The baguettes are the perfect texture, chewy yet soft. The meat is flavorful without being too salty. With carrots and cilantro, Bageti's sandwiches are both fresh and flavorful. (All sandwiches come with jalapeño — but I don't do spicy so I asked for without). The mango mousse cake is light, sweet, and full of mango flavor.
Now that you've ordered your food, it's time to pick a place to eat. Remember that bus in the parking lot? Yeah, you can eat in it. Climb up to the second floor of the double decker bus, pick a table and enjoy the view. If pretending you're an English tourist isn't your cup of tea, you can take a seat on one of the sofas inside, claim a table right outside, or return to the comfort of your office desk.
No matter where you decide to eat, with the exception of your desk, the staff at Bageti Sandwiches will find you and personally deliver your meal. It may take 20—30 minutes before you get your food, but it's well worth the wait. If you're really in a rush, call ahead at (909) 612-4422 to place your order.
