Bobby Flay's Favorite Ice Cream Is A Midwestern Classic
As far as we're concerned it's always the season for ice cream. That's why they come out with so many different flavors, right? Different flavors sound better during different seasons, but ice cream makes for a great dessert at any time. We all have a favorite brand that we buy from the store or a local custard shop that is perfect when a craving hits. But we can also agree that ice cream on vacation just tastes different. We don't know whether it's because there are no rules, or a greater sense of relaxation, but exploring ice cream shops around the world will always be a great joy in life.
It's always interesting and fun to sample flavors that aren't what you would normally go for. Some ice cream parlors even offer savory flavors, if you're feeling adventurous. Salt & Straw, originally from Portland, OR but now sprinkled throughout the country, even offers special Thanksgiving flavors like Caramelized Turkey & Cranberry Sauce. That's one of those flavors you've just got to experience for yourself. And we can't help but wonder if any of our favorite celebrity chefs, like Bobby Flay, enjoy non-traditional ice cream flavors.
Bobby Flay's favorite ice cream flavor
A person's favorite ice cream flavor says a lot about them. French vanilla or chocolate might mean they respect the classics and appreciate the basics done well. Someone that loves Chunky Monkey might be a bit more adventurous, while someone who craves an orange sherbet can be said to enjoy the light and fun things in life. While we don't trust everyone's palate, a world-class chef like Bobby Flay deserves our attention.
The Iron Chef shared his favorite flavor on NBC's Today show, detailing everything there is to love about Graeter's Ice Cream shop in Ohio (per Cincinnati.com). And his favorite flavor is not so traditional at all. It's Black Raspberry Chip, a wonderfully tart ice cream with a nice crunch and added sweetness from the chocolate chips.
Other favorites of Flay include almost anything with a vanilla base, nuts, or caramel. Graeter's Ice Cream Shop has plenty of flavors to tempt the TV Personality, and the rest of us, too. Now that your mouth is watering and you're probably jonesing for Black Raspberry Chip ice cream, we have good news for you.
Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Graeter's also has dozens of locations throughout the midwest. If you're not located in the midwest, that's no problem because they ship their ice cream nationwide (per Graeter's). The shop recently rolled out some tasty holiday-inspired flavors like Pumpkin, Eggnog, and Peppermint Twist, but if none of those suit you, they offer over 30 other flavors.
