Alpeniglu, Austria

Alpeniglu Dorf is an village of igloos with an ice church, igloo suites, and a restaurant. There are a variety of activities like ice workshops, exhibitions, and torch-lit hikes, and you can book a romantic package for your stay. 

Hôtel de Glace, Canada

About two and a half miles from Québec City the Hôtel de Glace is created every year, this year's design theme being "Northern Perspective." With 44 rooms, an ice bar, spas, and a chapel, this hotel is the largest on our list.

Hotel of Ice, Romania

The Hotel of Ice in Cîrţişoara, Romania is made from ice blocks that come from the nearby Balea Lake. Here you will sleep on ice beds with furs, sheets, and a sleeping bag. Your meals at the restaurant will be served on ice plates, at an ice table, while you sit on ice chairs. 

Icehotel, Sweden

For the first time, Icehotel Jukkasjärvi has created another hotel, Icehotel 365. This new hotel will be open all year round with a solar-panel cooling system to keep the hotel cool (and solid) during the summer. You can stay at the classic Icehotel that is rebuilt yearly or venture out to the newest hotel addition. 

Iglu Dorf, Switzerland

Iglu Dorf has several locations throughout Switzerland, each one a unique snow hotel made with snow ploughs each winter. Artists decorate the interior walls, and the igloos are connected by a tunnel system. 

Kirkenes Snowhotel, Norway

Norway's Kirkenes Snowhotel has 24 rooms, each with a different arctic theme. Eat at the Gabba Restaurant, go king crab fishing, or drive a snowmobile around the area. Regardless of what you decide to do during your stay, it'll be a beautiful and exciting place to be. 

Schneedorf, Austria

Schneedorf is a snow village in Austria where you can stay in spacious, four-person igloos. Enjoy a cheese fondue dinner and continental breakfast, and learn how to build your own igloo during your stay. 

SnowCastle of Kemi, Finland

Within the SnowCastle are the SnowHotel rooms. Unlike some of the other ice and snow hotels, the rooms here are decoratively and beautifully illuminated. You'll sleep on an ice bed with a sleeping bag, fleece sheets, and a lambskin cover.

Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel, Norway

For a few months out of the year, Sorrisniva creates the wondrous Igloo Hotel in the Norwegian town of Alta.  Learn about and experience Sami culture, take a snowmobile tour, and possibly witness the Aurora Borealis while in Alta. You'll also need to eat while you're there, so dine at Sorrisniva Restaurant

Village Igloo Morzine-Avoriaz, France

At the Avoriaz ski resort's Village Igloo in Morzine, in the French Alps, you'll be able to ski in and ski out of your room. The winter village features a terrace, ice bar, and several close restaurants, such as La Pointe de Nyon or Le Coup de Coeur.
