Woman Receives Marijuana With Sonic Order
A Maryland woman got an unexpected bonus this week when she opened her fast-food order and found she'd received a tiny bag of marijuana along with her food.
According to the Associated Press, however, Carla McFarland was not pleased with her special gift. She reportedly placed her order at a Sonic Drive-In Wednesday in Frederick, Maryland, and when she found the little green bag of pot tucked in with her French fries, she immediately complained to a manager and called the police.
McFarland said she initially posted about the incident on Facebook, and that some of her friends thought her story was funny. She disagrees.
"I kept thinking, what if my kids had eaten it?" she told the Frederick News-Post.
According to McFarland, a manager later told her that an employee admitted to having had the bag in her apron, and said it must have slipped out while she was preparing McFarland's order. The employee was reportedly fired after the incident, and local police say they are investigating but no charges have yet been filed.
McFarland says she was given a new meal and not charged for what she ordered, but while nobody was hurt, she says she does not see the humor in the situation.
"I think that's why everyone thinks it's so funny, because it's marijuana and it's going to be legalized," she said. "It could have been crack. It could have been cocaine in that little baggie."
