Robert Downey Jr. To Star In Indie Comedy 'Chef'
Wait a second, how many Chef movies are out there? In an announcement right before the Cannes International Film Festival, news breaks that Robert Downey Jr. has teamed up once more with Iron Man director Jon Favreau for an indie comedy Chef.
According to Variety, Favreau is set to direct and star in Chef, alongside Downey Jr., Bobby Cannavale, Sofia Vergara, and John Leguizamo. Based on Favreau's script, the movie will reportedly follow "a man who loses his chef job and starts up a food truck to reclaim his artistic promise and reclaiming his estranged family," Variety reports.
Further details on plot and characters are vague, but the movie is reportedly set in the "culinary world of Los Angeles," Favreau said, and production starts July 8. We can only hope this means cameos from Ludo Lefebvre and food truck master Roy Choi, not to mention a chef-off between Robert Downey Jr. and Bradley Cooper (who is starring in a more dramatic food movie also titled Chef).
