Triple Chocolate Donut Shake
Triple Chocolate Donut Shake
I am a serious donutholic—I will eat donuts any time, for any reason, and any kind; I do not discriminate. My love for donuts stems from two likely causes—one, because my Grandma Pat or my parents would frequently take us to the local donut shop at least once a week, and two, because my mom often bought those poppable donut holes at the grocery store and we’d shovel them into our mouths like they were going out of style. We never really bought chocolate donuts, so whenever I’d get one, it was always a special treat compared to my typical sugar-yeast or cake donut. There’s something so delightful about a fudgy chocolate cake donut, and they are the star in this recipe. Combined with chocolate milk, chocolate ice cream, and chocolate sauce—okay, more like quadruple chocolate—they’re a heavenly treat for any donut freak! Ingredients
- 5 chocolate-frosted chocolate cake donuts, divided
- 2 cup chocolate ice cream
- 1 cup chocolate milk, or more depending on how thick you like your shake
- chocolate syrup
- whipped cream
Directions
- Break 3 of the chocolate donuts into rough pieces and place them in the blender along with the ice cream and milk. Blend on HIGH for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until combined and smooth, adding more milk if necessary. While milkshake blends, roughly chop the remaining two donuts into bite-size pieces.
- Drizzle the inside of your glasses with chocolate syrup, then fill with the milkshake. Top with whipped cream and the chopped donut pieces. Serve immediately.
