Mozzarella Pesto Turkey Franks
Hot dogs like you’ve never seen them. Top your turkey franks with a bit of marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, roasted red bell peppers, and basil pesto for an Italian-style barbecue.

Ingredients
- 4 bun-length uncured turkey franks, such as jennie-o®
- 4 hot dog buns, split
- ½ cup marinara sauce
- ½ 8-ounce ball fresh mozzarella cheese, torn
- ½ cup roasted red bell pepper strips
- ⅓ cup basil pesto
Directions
- Preheat the grill to medium heat. Grill the franks according to package directions. Grill the buns, cut-side down, until golden brown.
- Spread the marinara sauce inside the buns. Add some mozzarella and bell peppers to each bun. Place on the grill, and close the lid. Grill until the cheese melts, about 2 minutes. Remove from the grill. Add the franks to the buns and top each with some pesto.
