Toast to the upcoming Brazilian-based Olympic Games with the Caipirinha de Uva cocktail featuring cachaça, the national spirit of Brazil. Prosecco adds a celebratory touch to the drink and is a simple upgrade to the classic libation that’s enjoyed throughout the hosting country.  This recipe is courtesy of  Prosecco DOC.

Brazilian Caipirinha de Uva
Ingredients
  • 4 lime wedges
  • 7 green grapes
  • 2 teaspoon raw sugar
  • 2 ounce cachaça
  • 1 1/2 ounce prosecco
Directions
  1. Place lime wedges, 5 of the grapes, and the sugar, in a cocktail shaker. Muddle until the fruit is crushed and the juices have been released. Add the cachaça and fill the shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for about 25 seconds.
  2. Strain into an old-fashioned glass and top with Prosecco. Garnish with remaining grapes.
