Endangered Animal Food Porn Gets Woman Arrested

Eating endangered animals is a terrible idea in the first place, but one woman compounded the bad ideas one after another by not only eating endangered animals and bragging about it, but posting all the photos on social media to show off to her followers. In the end, she was arrested.

According to Shanghaiist, the woman now known to the Internet as the "Pangolin Princess" posted several grainy and poorly lit photos of the food she was eating on Weibo, a huge Chinese social-networking site. One of her favorite ingredients appears to have been pangolin, which is a pretty cute animal that looks like a tiny anteater with big scales. Its scales are reputed to have medicinal properties in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and its flesh is a delicacy that can cost hundreds of dollars a pound. It's also an endangered animal, and buying, selling, or killing one in China can result in a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

The woman actually posted the photos of her endangered animal diet, and photos of the animals before they were killed, back in 2011 and 2012, but they just started circulating after another user found them and posted them recently. Once they started going viral, police launched an investigation and reportedly arrested a suspect earlier this week.
