Orange Blossom Chocolate Scones

- 3 tablespoon butter
- 1/8 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup flour, plus extra for rolling out the dough
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon orange flower water
- 1 1/2 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 beaten egg
- 2 tablespoon chocolate chips
- 3 egg yolks
- dash of milk
- pinch of sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Put the butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Rub the ingredients together until combined. Add in the orange zest, egg, milk, and orange flower water. Knead into a dough. Add the chocolate chipsto the dough.
- Dust some flour on a clean surface and roll the dough until it is ¾ of an inch high. Cut the scone into a desired shape, so that it is about 2 inches in diameter, and place on a baking sheet. You should get about 10 scones.
- Combine the egg yolks, milk, and sugar, and brush the surface of each scone with the egg wash. Rest the scones for about 15 minutes, and then bake for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
