You Need This Three-In-One Pie Cake In Your Belly Now
You need to drop whatever you're doing and behold the wonder that is the PumPecApple Pie Cake: three pies within three cakes, stacked and iced. It's basically the cake version of the Turducken. The impressive recipe was put together by the Food Network and Three Brothers Bakery in Houston, Texas.
The Food Network teaches you how to put together this king of all cake-pies in a convenient four-minute video as part of their Outrageous Food segment. A prepared apple pie is your base, and you place the apple pie upside-down onto a pan full of traditional cake batter. Then you layer the rest of the cake batter on top of it. You do the same with the pecan pie in chocolate batter, and for the pumpkin cake, which is smashed between layers of pumpkin spice batter. After all three cakes are baked in the oven, you stack them on top of each other, and then ice the whole thing with buttercream frosting (although a smart, suggested alternative is cream cheese frosting).
And there you have it: the cake that's perfect for gluttons, indecisive dessert-lovers, and frosting enthusiasts alike.
