One-Day Pop-Up Brings Fine Dining Aboard Paris' 200-Foot-High Ferris Wheel

Paris' iconic Grande Roue, a 200-foot high Ferris wheel in its Place de la Concorde, will be transformed into a pop-up restaurant for one night only, on May 19.

The pop-up is part of this year's S.Pellegrino Young Chef competition, where chefs from around the world and under the age of 30 compete for the 2016 title.

Representing France is chef Shintaro Awa, who will be cooking alongside his mentor chef Yannick Alléno for this four-course "Dinner Amongst the Stars" aboard the Grande Roue. One of the dishes served will be Awa's signature dish: air-cured mackerel with potatoes, reports Eater.

400 lucky people will have the opportunity to dine in one of the Ferris wheel's 48 cabins during one of two seatings at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Interested parties can make a reservation online. The two chefs will be cooking from a pop-up kitchen at the foot of the Ferris wheel, made especially for the event.
