Man Sells Salad From A Repurposed London Telephone Booth

London man Ben Spier has breathed new life into a telephone booth in Bloomsbury Square. Spier, with the help of the Red Kiosk Company, which refurbishes red boxes for entrepreneurs like Spier, is selling homemade salads from an abandoned but iconic red telephone booth.

The shop, Spier's Salads, opened for business on May 4. It is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Spier makes all the salads at home using only organic, locally sourced, ingredients.

Each day there are five types of "hearty salads" on offer, which change depending on what is in season, reports Tech Insider. This week's offerings included roasted chicken salad with sumac, pomegranate molasses, and a spinach salad with oranges, olives, quinoa, and basil.

"I chose to sell from the phone box, because they're beautiful London icons which are used — a perfect brownfield redevelopment," Spier says.
