Pizza Hut Jumps On The Bandwagon And Goes Gluten-Free
The people have spoken: we need more gluten-free pizza! And Pizza Hut has answered. The fast-food pizza giant has announced the arrival of gluten-free plain and pepperoni pies starting January 26. Each pie is made with certified gluten-free crust from well-known brand UDI with gluten-free toppings. Pizza Hut has even gotten the thumbs-up from the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) for their gluten-free inclusive efforts.
The group trained Pizza Hut employees in the preparation of gluten-free foods, meaning that the crust, cheese, and toppings are all stored and prepared in a different location than regular ingredients, so even the most sensitive of gluten-intolerant pizza lovers won't be too nervous to order a pie.
"We partnered with the most-respected names in the gluten-free community to develop a best-in-class pizza for those looking to limit gluten in their diet," said David Gibbs, global CEO, Pizza Hut. "Our Gluten-Free Pizza has all the flavor America has come to expect from a Pizza Hut pizza, which is why we are thrilled to add this great pizza to our lineup."
Pricing for the gluten-free pies starts at $9.99 for a 10-inch pizza.
