New York Michelin Stars For 2014 Announced
Michelin Guide released its New York City stars, announcing 67 restaurants awarded a Michelin star this year.
The newbies: Aska, Babbo, Carbone, Caviar Russe, Ichimura at Brushstroke, Le Restaurant, Lincoln, the Musket Room, and Telepan, all earned one star.
The oldies: Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare, Daniel, Eleven Madison Park, Jean Georges, Le Bernardin, Masa, and Per Se all kept their three stars.
Meanwhile, Jungsik, Tribeca's Korean restaurant, was awarded a two-star designation, adding to atera, Marea, Momofuku Ko, and Soto as the five two-star restaurants. Both A Voce Columbus and Madison kept their one-star designation, despite Missy Robbins' departure. But honestly, as we've noted, the list doesn't seem that different: Only one climb up within the ranks, and nine new one-star restaurants.
"I wouldn't take that as a sign of lack of creativity," Michael Ellis, director of the Michelin guides, told the Republic. "There's some fascinating things that are going on in New York. It's only a matter of time before we have some new three-star candidates." We suppose they're just not there yet. Check out the full list over on Michelin's site.
