Man Rescues Cute Baby Moose And Brings It To Tim Horton's
What's the cutest Canadian thing to ever happen? No, tweenage readers, it's not Justin Bieber. Stephan Michel Desgroseillers of Sadbury, Ontario happened to find a baby moose on the side of the road. The calf's mother was apparently killed in a car accident, and Sadbury found him with an umbilical cord still attached, apparently a newborn. Desgroseillers decided to rescue him and turn him over to the proper authorities, but not before taking the calf to Tim Horton's coffee and doughnut shop to hang out and just generally make everyone squeal in delight. Desgroseillers also took a video of the young moose exploring his surroundings.
Watch the video here:
As you can see, the baby moose doesn't seem to be afraid. In fact, he seems pretty comfortable with nosing up to Tim Horton's guests.
"[S]he still had the umbilical cord and was still wet when I found her," Desgroseillers says in the video. "The wolves would have got to her."
Desgroseillers said it was difficult to part with the young moose since the calf "cried" everytime he walked a few feet away, but he eventually turned him over to the experts at the Wild at Heart Animal Rescue Center in Ontario, where he is doing well, and has been nicknamed Oliver by animal rescue workers.
