Floyd Cardoz Named Executive Chef Of White Street Restaurant
Floyd Cardoz, formerly the executive chef of North End Grill from the restaurant's opening in 2012 until earlier in 2014, has been named the new executive chef of an upcoming restaurant in Tribeca called White Street.
Floyd, who announced in April that he was departing from North End Grill to pursue other culinary projects, was previously the executive chef of Tabla, the three star-rated, contemporary Indian restaurant that closed in 2010.
Cardoz, who hinted after leaving North End Grill that he had plans for "another Tabla-like restaurant" in the future, will be both the executive chef and a partner at White Street, which will focus on "American with global touches," according to The New York Times.
White Street is expected to open in September 2014 in the former Churrascaria Tribeca space, and will use the entrance at 221 West Broadway.
