Royal Air Force Chef Says Prince William's Favorite 'Snack' Is A Lamb Burger

Gareth Matheson, a former chef for the Royal Air Force who served at the same time as Prince William himself, says that the prince's "absolute favorite" snack was a "royal Welsh lamb burger."

According to The Telegraph, "the 450-calorie, half-pounder burger is made with only local and fresh produce including Snowdonia cheese, bacon, a fried egg, and a dash of mint sauce and paprika." It was created especially for Prince William.

"Whenever he was on shift he would always ask for it," Matheson told The Telegraph. "When he was working nights he would always ask for me to do another one for throughout the night. He liked the idea that we were using all local and fresh produce... I thought he was going to turn into a burger at one point."

The burger became such a hit with the rest of the RAF that Matheson eventually introduced it at his restaurant, Road King, in Anglesey, Wales.

Knowing a great marketing opportunity when he sees one, the chef also told the publication, "I've taken the burger with me to Road King, they love it but they didn't know it was Prince William's favorite recipe until now. We will start selling more of them now."
