Muslim Family Dining At An Olive Garden Receives Unexpected Surprise

The season of giving inspired one stranger to pay it forward to a Muslim family dining at an Olive Garden in Augusta, Georgia. Eslam S. Mohamed recounts the act of kindness in a Facebook post, accompanied by a photo of the bill from the meal. On the bill, written in blue sharpie, reads "Paid. Merry Christmas, Beautiful Family." The photo, posted on Christmas, now has over 28,000 shares.

Mohamed details that the night before, he dined at the Olive Garden in a group of seven adults and five children. According to him, his party was easily identifiable as Muslim because of the language they spoke and the hijabs the women wore. After finishing their meal, the pictured receipt was delivered by the waitress.

Mohamed says, "Yes, someone paid for us and wrote those wonderful words on the receipt. I can't express how this act touched our hearts. Among all the bad things happening to Muslims and the hate speech that the presidential candidate had made lately, there is still light in the dark, there is still hope within the frustration."
