Slurpee Is Celebrating Its 50th Birthday In A Big Way

7-Eleven Day (aka free Slurpee day) is almost upon us. This year's celebration is made extra special as the Slurpee celebrates its 50th Birthday.

Like Starbucks, 7-Eleven rings in its birthday with a birthday-themed rendition of one of its iconic offerings — in the convenience store's case, its famous Slurpee. The limited-edition Birthday Cake Slurpee is available for a limited time at participating stores. It is described as "the perfect combination of traditional birthday cake and vanilla ice cream flavor — a delicious frozen celebration for your taste buds," according to a release.

On July 11, or 7-Eleven Day, U.S. customers can enjoy a free small Slurpee drink at participating stores from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., while supplies last.

Participating stores will also offer new limited-time Slurpee products and snacks, such as Slurpee cotton candy, Slurpee-flavored ChapStick, and birthday doughnuts.

The celebration continues with Slurpee Week, July 12 through 18, where customers who purchase seven Slurpee drinks during the week using the 7-Eleven mobile app will receive credits for 11 free Slurpee drinks.
