Burger King Celebrates The Launch Of 'BK Joe' With 99-Cent Coffee

Burger King, the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world, is introducing its latest breakfast item today: a new blend of coffee called the BK Joe. The number-one chain, McDonald's, has had success in recent years with its McCafé program.

The new blend uses a different brewing method, bringing what is said to be a brighter taste to Burger King coffee, whereas the current breakfast menu has four Smooth Roast coffee options: regular, decaf, iced coffee, and vanilla iced coffee.

"This is the start of a renewed focus on coffee for us," Alex Macedo, president of Burger King North America, said in a statement. "We invested a lot of time developing a new blend and refining the brewing procedures in our restaurants to help us serve a hot and freshly-brewed cup of coffee every time, for every guest."

The BK Joe can be served hot in small, medium, and large sizes with half & half or other sweetener options. The new coffee blend can also be served iced with cream, sweeteners, and vanilla or mocha flavoring in a 16-ounce serving.

In honor of the BK Joe, the fast food restaurant is offering 99-cent any size coffee for a limited time at participating locations.
