Angry Orchard Launches Its First Hard Cider Made Exclusively With New York Apples

Looks like Governor Cuomo isn't the only one backing New York apples for hard cider. Angry Orchard has just launched Walden Hollow, a new year-round specialty hard cider and the first from the company to be made exclusively with New York State apples, according to a release.

Walden Hollow is named for Walden, New York, "home of the angry orchard" and the location of the Angry Orchard Innovation Cider House, which opened last fall.

"We're extremely proud of Walden Hollow as it's our first cider made with apples from our own backyard," said Ryan Burk, head cider maker at Angry Orchard. "The mild tannins and dryness of the cider capture the diversity, complexity, and depth of character from the blend of New York State apples."

Walden Hollow joins the Angry Orchard Cider House Collection and will be released annually every spring. It is available in 750-milliliter bottles at a suggested retail price of $14.99-$17.99.
