The Daily Meal's Product Round Up
The Daily Meal is bringing you weekly round ups of the best new food and drink products on the market. From unusual snacks and drinks, to new flavors of your favorite products, we've got you covered so you don't have to scour the Internet or the shelves of your local grocery store to find out what's new.
Hot Straws — Touted as the world's only straw safe for hot liquids, these sturdy plastic straws are designed to sustain the heat of coffee, tea, or other hot beverages. No more plastic bits or harmful chemicals in your morning cup of joe!
Sriracha Popcorn — Everything seems to be Sriracha-flavored lately! The new Sriracha popcorn from Popcorn, Indiana combines "small-batch popcorn" with "red chile pepper flavorings" to imitate your favorite hot sauce.
Mountain Dew Baja Blast — We've already written about the highly-anticipated release of the cult-favorite Baja Blast beverage. Previously the drink has only been sold in stores, and starting May 5th, you will be able to buy your own bottles of the Listerinegreen-colored, so-sweet-you'll-go-into-diabetic-shock, limited edition Mountain Dew.
Red's Natural Foods Low-Cal Burritos — Looking to spice up your boring lunch routine but still rein in the calories? Red's Natural Foods has created smaller, five-ounce burritos, a 300-calorie, snack-sized portion of their beloved frozen Mexican food, in steak and cheese and chicken and cheese combos.
Brand-New Doritos Jacked Flavors — It's a mystery! Doritos sent The Daily Meal three packages of unlabeled Doritos flavors. But the on-staff orange dust sleuths determined that you may be seeing a brown sugar and molasses Dorito, a chocolate-dusted Dorito, or a spicy sour cream Dorito hitting shelves real soon.
ChaserStrips — Chasing down shots on a night on the town just got a whole lot easier. ChaserStrips look a lot like Listerine strips, but they taste like mixed berry, and are placed on your tongue before you take a shot. So instead of coughing and sputtering after you feel Jose Cuervo burn his way down your throat, you'll be left with the soothing taste of berries.
Pop Chips Tortilla Chips — The beloved Pop Chips now come in a more familiar shape: Pop Chips chili limón tortilla chips now come in the shape of regular-old tortilla chips. But they still have half the fat of a normal chip, and contain only natural ingredients.
Skinnygirl Sweet'arita and Sparkling Margarita — Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, Skinnygirl has come out with two new packaged margarita flavors: Sweet'arita is sweeter than the original, but has the same calories, and Sparkling Margarita combines the bubbly fun of champagne with the festive taste of a margarita.
