McDonald's Delivery: Where McDonald's Delivers
Ever wonder if there was a McDonald's nearby that would deliver food right to your door? Well wonder no more!
McDonald's launched its delivery service, called McDelivery (naturally), in 1993. The service is available in 25 countries throughout the world, most of which are in Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, including Japan, Brazil, China, India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. In each country, the service is a little different. In China for example, delivery is available 24/7, and costs about $1.27. In Sydney, Australia, it's available from 5 to 9 p.m. with a minimum order of $25 and a $5 delivery fee. And in Taiwan, there's a delivery fee of about $1.18. The chain has also launched delivery in Germany and Australia.
But what about in the United States? McDonald's has been experimenting with delivery here since 1993, but it's never really caught on. While home delivery was initially launched in Virginia, the only location where you can today order McDonald's delivery in the United States is in Manhattan, through a partnership with delivery service Seamless. Ten locations on the island will deliver to locations within their range for free, most with a minimum order of $10.
