Maple Bacon Cronut Burgers Now On Sale In Canada
In today's mash-up food news, a Canadian restaurant has taken every trend, ever, and combined them all into one monstrous item: the maple bacon jam cronut burger.
Bacon? Check. Double points for maple bacon. Toss the donuts and add in cronuts, then slice it in half and top it with a beef patty to make a burger. Chicken and waffles aren't on the list yet, but imagine putting waffle-breaded chicken in between the cronut halves, and topping it with a maple syrup sauce? Wait, we're giving them ideas.
The maple bacon cronut burger is a byproduct of a collaboration between Toronto's Le Dolci Cupcakes and Cakes and EPIC Burgers and Waffles. The burger will be at Toronto's Canadian National Exhibition from Aug. 16 to Sept. 2.
Of course, this isn't the first time the cronut burger entered existence; a First We Feast intern made the epic trek to wait in line for Dominique Ansel's cronuts (about three hours) before heading to Umami Burger to wait in line for a burger. He then swapped out his burger buns for the cronut; it took him six hours total.
