Fun Memorial Day Party Games
You have one very serious job to do this Memorial Day weekend: You must have fun. We don't care if you are hosting a barbecue or just catching some rays on a trip out of town, after a long winter, you deserve an opportunity to finally spend three days playing in the sun. While just being with family and friends and sharing delicious food can be a blast, sometimes you need a good ice-breaking game to really get the party started.
Active Outdoor Games
If you and your friends are all buzzing with energy — or if the kids have eaten too much sugar and need to burn off some of that energy — start bonding the group together and celebrating a sunny weekend day with your favorite outdoor games. Tag, Capture the Flag, and Spud are all great, competitive family fun.
Competitive Kids’ Activities
If your Memorial Day party has a large group of small kids who need entertaining, get them playing against each other in some competitive team-based activities. Many games such as Hide and Seek or Freeze Dance need very little adult interaction, so you can have a relaxed, civilized time, while the kids play amongst themselves. Just make sure you have a prize for the winner.
Host an Eating Contest
From hot dogs to apple pie, have your guests playfully combat each other in an eating contest. It'll make for great photos and will be a sure-fire way to ensure you aren't stuck with a ton of leftovers!
Play Awesome Table Games
Using games the group can play together is one of our favorite options, especially if it gets the kids talking. While store-bought products like Balderdash, Apples to Apples, and Articulate are great for groups, you don't need to spend money to have a good time. Check out these awesome table game ideas!
Swimming Pool Fun
If you're lucky enough to have access to a swimming pool at your Memorial Day barbecue, make the most of it, and have some fun playing games in the water. Whether you start racing everybody against each other, or play a few rounds of Marco Polo, everybody will love spending a few hours in the pool.
