Hershey's To Introduce First New Candy Brand In 30 Years
When you think Hershey's, the first thing you think of is chocolate, right? Well, now the company is dabbling into new territory: caramel.
For the first time in 30 years, The Hershey Co. will be rolling out a new brand: a soft caramel line called Lancaster.
The candy will debut in the U.S. in January 2014, and has already been circulating around three cities in China, according to the Associated Press.
Apparently, caramel has been the latest hot commodity in the candy world—especially in China. So the company decided to jump on that bandwagon.
There are significant differences between the U.S. and China versions of Lancaster. It was confirmed earlier this year that Lancaster in China will be a milk-based candy, whereas in the States, it will be caramel. Expect to find regular caramel, vanilla and caramel, and vanilla and raspberry flavors in the U.S.
We're so glad that Hershey will be releasing a new candy brand in its American market after such a long hiatus. Caramel is the perfect comfort candy.
