Fun Alternatives To A Fourth Of July Barbecue
The Fourth of July is just a few weeks away and we are all thinking of how to celebrate. A classic cookout, complete with barbecue and great cocktails, is a classic way to celebrate the U.S.A. Unfortunately, not all of us have access to a grill, and some of us are just sick of grilled food all together.
Thankfully, there are other ways to throw an awesome Fourth of July party that will wow your guests. As long as you have good company, good food, and good drinks, your party will be the perfect way to party on Independence Day.
Fourth of July Potluck
Food is a wonderful thing and when everyone can participate, it's even more fun. A potluck is the best way to get your guests involved, and save yourself a little money. Just make sure that everyone doesn't bring the same thing. Nothing is more annoying than showing up to a potluck where everyone brought a dessert. Put some recipe suggestions on your invites and have people RSVP with what they are planning on bringing. If there are doubles, try suggesting something else. Decorate your home in all red, white, and blue for a truly patriotic potluck.
Fourth of July Beach Party
Venture outside this Fourth of July and hit the beach! The weather is beautiful, so it's the perfect time to take advantage of the sun and surf. Throwing a beach party requires a little bit of extra planning and research, but once that's all done, you'll have an amazing party that everyone will love. Just beware of pesky seagulls and sunburns!
Fourth of July Picnic
Another great outdoor venue to throw your party is in your local park. It's a little easier than throwing a beach party and you still get sunshine as an added bonus. To make the party really fun, you can get red, white and blue picnic blankets or towels to lay out. Other fun additions to an Independence Day picnic party are a few sports balls or some Frisbees to toss around.
Fourth of July Movie Marathon
This party is for the more laid back host or hostess. It doesn't require too much preparation, except you have to make sure you have plenty of snacks on hand. We're talking about popcorn, of course, but also some tasty finger foods. Gather up all your favorite patriotic movies, like Independence Day and Saving Private Ryan, and invite your friends over for an American marathon they won't soon forget.
