The planning for parades, fireworks, and backyard barbecues from sea to shining sea is well underway, but last-minute travelers can still plan a patriotic getaway.

If you can't celebrate the Fourth of July in a patriotic town like Liberty, Mo. (population 29,149), Independence, Mo. (population 116, 830), New Freedom, Pa. (population 4,464) or American Fork, Utah (population 26,263), you can still celebrate the day in 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress with a patriotic package at hotels across the U.S.

From private fireworks shows to Revolutionary-themed walking tours, hotels are rolling out the red, white, and blue carpet for summer travelers.

Red, White, and Zoo (Minneapolis)
University Hotel Minneapolis is teaming up with the Minnesota Zoo to offer guests accommodation and a visit to the Minnesota Zoo. The University Hotel Minneapolis includes access to the University of Minnesota's $30 million sports and recreation facility, featuring an Olympic-sized pool, basketball and racquetball courts, and free transportation within a five-mile radius so travelers can leave their cars at home.

Rate: $139/night. Available July 1 – 8.

Fourth of July Celebration (Carlsbad, Calif.)
The Park Hyatt Aviara Resort's Independence Day celebration peaks on the Fourth of July with a festive cookout and barbecue created by executive chef Pierre Albaladejo and served in the resort's Palm Courtyard. The day at the Carlsbad, Calif., resort culminates with the Park Hyatt Aviara's private fireworks show at 9 p.m.

The Park Hyatt Aviara's Fourth of July Package includes a complimentary room upgrade to the next view category at the time of booking, two dinner plates ($50 value) at the Fourth of July cookout, and access to a VIP fireworks viewing area.

Patriotic Pride (Boston)
To mark the Fourth of July and the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the Revere Hotel Boston Common is celebrating with a special room rate of $181.20 per night for active military personnel and veterans with valid proof of service. The special rate includes two welcome cocktails from the hotel's newly opened Emerald Lounge. Revere's in-house mixologist, Teodora, has created three drinks, Dartmouth, Eleanor, and Beaver which are named after the three ships of the Boston Tea Party.

The bicentennial rate also coincides with the opening of the Boston Tea Party Museum and annual Harbor Fest, and Fleet Week, which all take place around the Fourth of July.

The bicentennial rate is available Friday, June 29 through Labor Day on Sept. 3.

Stars & Stripes (New York City)
Apple Core Hotels, a group of five budget-friendly properties in Manhattan, celebrates the Fourth of July with a Stars & Stripes package available throughout July.
