Food Truck Court Begins At Ground Zero

After months of negotiations, 20 rotating food trucks will begin vending outside 4 World Financial Center on Monday, Feb. 6.

On the first day, The New York Times reports the Kimchi Taco Truck, Gorilla Cheese NYC, Taim Mobile, and Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream will show up, with the lineup changing daily.

David Weber, president of the New York City Food Truck Association, said, "We are really excited to find a safe place to vend where we can contribute to the local community."  

Food truck vendors are grateful that Financial District-designated spaces will give them a place to park without fear of tickets or being asked to leave by police in the middle of lunch service. The food court is intended "for people in offices, local workers, and tourists."
