Famed Italian Chef To Join Upcoming Oceania Cruise
One of Italy's beloved Michelin Star Chefs will board the upcoming V. Sattui President's Cruise, offering hands-on cooking classes for guests on the customer appreciation cruise, scheduled for June 1, 2015 through June 16, 2015, aboard Oceania Cruises' newest ship, the Riviera.
Stefano Masanti, executive chef and owner of Il Cantinone restaurant in Madesimo, Italy, will join Tom Davies, president and co-owner of V. Sattui Winery, as well as winemaker Brooks Painter, on V. Sattui's President's Cruise. The cruise departs from Rome and visits the Ancient Empires, including stops in Italy, Greece, Israel, and Egypt.
"This is a great chance to visit the Ancient Empires that are a big part of the Italian culture and our way of cooking," Masanti said. "For us working with V. Sattui is always a pleasure and a great experience. It's like cooking for your best friends and family."
Masanti will help cooking class participants discover new foods and flavors from the ports of call on the cruise. He will take class participants to a local farmer's market, and everyone in the group will choose their ingredients. They'll return to the Bon Appetit Culinary Center on the Riviera, which is a kitchen classroom with 24 stations. Masanti will help his students create a menu inspired by the ingredients in a hands-on cooking class. At the end of the cooking class, students will enjoy their finished dishes paired with V. Sattui wines.
