Now Open
60 Bull Street: We hated to see Bull Street Gourmet close their neighborhood location and were excited to hear someone else would rejuvenate the place and put it back to use. 60 Bull Street is open for breakfast and lunch and offers sandwiches, salads, soups and more.
The Darling Oyster Bar: Only time will tell if The Darling Oyster Bar will be able to distinguish itself from The Ordinary and Leon's Oyster Shop that are both located right down the street and doing fairly similar menu items. The Ordinary and Leon's are proven stars, so it is risky to try and compete with what is already successful. There are some new things to try like oyster spaghetti and lobster pot pie, along with the fried chicken, raw bar, and ceviche offerings.
Huey's Southern Eats: It's brave to name a restaurant after an animal, and in this case a goose, but Wild Dunes Resort wanted to pay homage to the bird living at the old Texaco on the island. Huey's Southern Eats is located in the resort's Links Course Clubhouse and offers southern staple dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Stems & Skins: When two of the best local wine buyers left their current gigs to open a place, people took notice. Matt Tunstall, formerly at Husk, and Justin Croxall, owner of Bull Street Gourmet opened Stems & Skins in North Charleston. The quaint space serves and sells natural wines, classic cocktails and beer from around the world. They also have a selection of charcuterie and cheese, bar snacks and sandwiches.
The Watch at Restoration Hotel: Boasting some incredible views of the downtown skyline, The Watch at Restoration Hotel offers lunch and dinner by Chef Chad Anderson who prides himself on using fresh and local ingredients whenever possible.
