What Happens If You Refuse To Pay For Your Food Delivery?

It's a fairly everyday transaction: You call up the pizza place, they bring you pizza, you pay the delivery guy, and everybody goes on their merry way. But what would happen if you just snagged the pizza from the driver and slammed the door, refusing to pay? Someone posed this very question to Quora, and the answer probably isn't what wannabe thieves want to hear, because you won't be enjoying your pizza scott-free.

First of all, if you refuse to pay for your pizza before it's handed to you (in the instance of it being delivered late, etc.), don't expect the driver to just hand you the pizza for free; in that instance, the driver would have to pay for the pizza himself. It'll just make its way back to the pizzeria, where employees will probably eat it.

If the customer slams the door with their pizza without paying, then the driver will get back into their car and call their manager, and then they'll call the police, who will then do one of three things: allow the customer to pay for their pizza without arresting them (this is what's usually done if the thieves are kids or teenagers), arrest them for theft, or arrest them for strong-arm robbery if they grabbed the pizza from the delivery guy's hands.

Remember that just about all restaurants keep a record of everyone who's stiffed them, so you'll be blacklisted. And you also might find yourself with some catalog subscriptions you didn't sign up for.
