Asia's Beloved Tiger Beer Launches In New York City With Tiger Trading Co., An Art And Fashion Pop-Up Shop
Tiger Beer, the popular lager ubiquitous throughout Asia, is launching in New York City with a special pop-up shop in the middle of Chinatown in Manhattan, the two-day Tiger Trading Co.
Representing the modern face of Asia as it grows into its creative and entrepreneurial capabilities, the pop-up shop highlights the work of artists, designers, and creators of Asian and Asian-American heritage — all of whom will be able to show New York what "made in Asia" really means. Participating designers include Hong Kong's Goods of Desire, Zixag, and Pomch, Singapore's Mokoko, Mightyjaxx, and Industry +, Shanghai's Decoster and Kktp, and New York City's own Opening Ceremony, Yok & Sheryo, and Staple Pigeon, among others.
All pop-items are free, and customers can redeem one special item in exchange for a Tiger Beer coaster, available at participating bars in the area, including Mimi Cheng's, Nom Wah Tea Parlor, Pizza Beach LES, An Choi, Tropical 128, and more. The event will feature street food from Michael Ker, a third-generation popiah-maker from Singapore, and James Syhabout, of Oakland's Hawker Fare.
Tiger Trading Co. is open at 343 Canal Street in Chinatown, Manhattan, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on June 7 and 8.
